Science Education Partnerships

I got a Biochemistry Ph.D. at Princeton University and then did scientific research at Oxford, Harvard and the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF).

At UCSF, I worked in Dr. Bruce Alberts’ lab unsuccessfully trying to crystallize proteins involved in copying DNA. Bruce cares deeply about public education. He launched a program linking UCSF science and health professionals with San Francisco public schools and teachers.

I changed UCSF jobs and worked full time on that project, sharing ideas and experiences with other science-rich organizations that were helping schools and teachers. Based on those experiences, we developed, published, and sold/distributed this book on science education partnerships.
